They say you're temporary.

BUT WE KNOW YOU'RE ESSENTIAL.

The TWA is the UK's only specialist union, advocating for our temporary workers and better working conditions for the 1.2+ million who rely on zero-hours contracts.

Who we are

With over a million temporary workers in the country across multiple sectors, we lead the fight for fair pay, good benefits, and safe, healthy workplaces. To us, upholding workers’ rights means stronger public services, more resilient communities, and stronger working rights for our members. Together we're both a union and a workers’ movement, fighting to build a more equitable society for all.

Our goals...

We focus on key areas that support workers and their employment rights, enhancing our communities, and promoting fairness. All whilst driving positive change across the Nation.

Campaigning >

Our workers are at the heart of what we do at the TWA. That means fighting to win a fair deal for members and ensuring they have a strong voice at the bargaining table. Our job is to deliver better wages, more stable employment rights, safer working conditions, and the respect our members deserve -  across every sector.

Representation >

No worker, regardless of their employment contract, should be left without union representation. That's why we offer affordable and flexible memberships, pro-bono work, and offer specialist advice to those on zero-hours or temporary contracts.

Equity & Fairness >

We strive to centre equity, diversity, and inclusion in everything we do. From developing our Anti-racism strategy to our work in solidarity, we work to eradicate systemic barriers in our workplaces and advocate for social justice in the UK and further across the world.

ACAS & Conciliation >

With our representatives often having lived-experience of the early conciliation or tribunal processes, we know the effects of raising an early-conciliation request or tribunal application. That's why we're here to support you at every step.

Economic Growth >

We drive economic growth by promoting good union jobs, fighting back against the privatisation of our essential public services, and ensuring that workers and families across the UK can live with dignity and security.
